This qualification is informed by employers and national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a fully commercial laser tattoo removal practitioner.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to level 5 non-medical aesthetic therapies. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with and analyse clients whilst providing laser tattoo removal treatments. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills and widen their knowledge of the principles and practices of non-medical aesthetic therapies, all of which are valued highly by employers.
In this course, you will gain advanced knowledge and practical skills in non-medical aesthetic therapies, with a strong focus on laser tattoo removal. You will learn the principles and practices of aesthetic treatments, conduct in-depth consultations, and provide advanced skin care to support safe and effective procedures. The training includes the use of Q-Switched Laser systems to professionally remove or fade tattoos. You will also study anatomy, physiology, and essential health and safety practices, while enhancing your consultation, communication, and customer service skills—preparing you for a successful role as a laser tattoo removal practitioner.
Case studies, Assessment & Assignments, External Exam
Learners are required to hold a level 4 laser and IPL qualification to progress onto level 5 tattoo removal. Learners who hold a level 3 beauty therapy qualification or equivalent will be able to access the level 4 laser and IPL qualifications as a natural progression route.

Course Cost for Level 5 Tattoo Removal
- £941 if using government funding (Advanced Learner Loan)
- £941 + VAT (£1,129.20 total) if self-funding
➡️ Please note: Whether you choose to self-fund or apply for government funding, there is an additional payment of £650 required. This covers your external exam and registration fee and is not included in the Advanced Learner Loan.
Course fees are set by HM Government and published by the Education and Skills Funding Agency on the Learning Aims Reference Service (LARS).

- Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
